How much does Upward cost?
The fee for Upward this year is $75 for both basketball and cheerleading.  Basketball shorts and Cheerleading turtlenecks are optional items which you can buy for $13 each.  Your fee includes your player kits which will include your high quality uniform, a car magnet, and other fun goodies from Upward.  It also covers the end of the season award given at the Awards Celebration - usually a very popular item!
When and where are games held? How about practices?
Games are only held on Saturdays starting January 10 and ending March 1.  Games will be held at the gyms of First United Methodist Church and Crestview Baptist Church.  Games schedule starts at 8:00 in the morning.

Practices are held once a week.  Kindergarden has their practice as part of their game time.  Practices are held at several schools and churches in the area.  You will be contacted by your coach as to when and where you practice.  The registration form allows you to select one night a week that you will not be able to practice.
What are the colors for the 2008/2009 season?
Silver and Black
Does my child have to attend an evaluation?
Yes!  Evaluations help us to equalize our teams so that the experience is a postive experience for all children.  Evaluations this year will be on Thursday, November 6 between 6:00-8:00 and Saturday, November 15 between 10:00-2:00.  All evaluation will take place at First United Methodist Church, beginning at the main sanctuary doors.
Will my child have equal playing time?
Yes!  If you child is present at every game he/she should have equal playing time as the other members on the team.  Upward has a rotation system that also has your child matched up against a player of fairly equal ability.  If you feel your coach is not following the rotation schedule please let us know and we will work to correct the problem.
What is the Upward Awards Celebration?
We celebrate the end of the season with a program at the Civic Center.  This year we have schedule the Awards Celebration for Sunday - March 1.  Usually we show a highlights video,  have really jammin' music, give away some doorprizes, and hand out end of the season gifts.  In the past we have had special guest speakers and a juggler.
